Is Vernazza Worth Visiting?
Yes, absolutely, and it's one of my favorite stops in Cinque Terre.
If you're choosing just one village to visit, Vernazza is an excellent option. It has a small harbor, great swimming spots, beautiful viewpoints, and some of the best food in the area. Compared to villages like Manarola or Riomaggiore, Vernazza feels more balanced and easier to enjoy at a slower pace.

The easiest way to reach Vernazza is by train. Trains run frequently from La Spezia, Levanto, and other Cinque Terre villages. Vernazza's train station opens directly into the village, which makes arrival incredibly easy. Cars are not allowed in the village, so plan to arrive by train.

Walk Up to the Viewpoints
A short uphill walk from the village leads to stunning viewpoints over Vernazza. These are especially beautiful in the early morning or late afternoon.

May, June, and September are ideal. The weather is warm, the sea is swimmable, and crowds are more manageable. July and August are beautiful but very busy. Early mornings and evenings are always the best times to explore.
