    Tartufi al Cioccolato–Chocolate Truffles

    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffle-2

I promised all of you another Dove Chocolate Discoveries recipe. This one was my favorite to make. It is TO DIE FOR delicious and I am dreaming about them all over again!

I’m very excited to share this Italian recipe with you. My handsome husband baked with me. He was really impressed with Dove Chocolate Discoveries baking line and had quite a few ideas he wanted to try. Thank goodness we still have some more chocolate left to bake with!
You could use any plain, dry cookies you’d like if you can’t find biscotti. The biscotti texture works wonderfully as the filling for the these little bundles of chocolate joy.
If you aren’t crazy about almonds, you could roll the cookie balls in chopped up pistachios or roll them in cocoa powder. I really liked them rolled in the Dove Chocolate Discoveries milk chocolate cinnamon dusted almonds. I couldn’t resist eating quite a few of the tartufi before we got to the rolling part. When you try this recipe, you’ll see what I mean!
    Tartufi al Cioccolato-Chocolate Truffles

    Ingredients
    1 lb of biscotti
1 2 ounce bar of Dove Chocolate Discoveries milk chocolate, melted (or your favorite baking chocolate)
    3 tablespoons of rum
1 (8 ounce) package of the cinnamon dusted chocolate almonds
4 (2 ounce) bars of Dove Chocolate Discoveries dark chocolate, melted

    Directions:
Grind the cinnamon dusted chocolate almonds and place in a small bowl.
    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffles-3
Add the biscotti to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until finely ground.
    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffles-4
Dump the ground biscotti in a separate large bowl.
    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffles-7
Add the melted milk chocolate and rum to the biscotti; mix together until combined.
    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffles-8
Roll the cookie batter into 1-inch balls. There was a slight problem at this part of recipe. I ended up eating quite a few of these adorable tartufi!

Dip each cookie ball into the dark chocolate. This part was also where we lost a few of the tartufi. Oh my gosh, delicious!

After dipping in the dark chocolate, dip into the ground cinnamon dusted chocolate almonds.
    tartufo-al-cioccolato-chocolate-truffles-10
Store in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Before serving, let the tartufi come to room temperature.
    Buon appetito!

Hope you are having a sweet week !

Yeah! Congratulations to Lizzy (she has a great blog too)
I see what you mean when it came to the rolled tartufi balls, they look so moist and chewy. Not to mention irresistible. Then we scroll down and see the chocolate dip and the chopped nuts...oh my goodness! What a truly decadent truffle and I think I'm bookmarking these for Christmas treats (not sure I can hold out that long though)

WOW these look SO rich and perfect. I love that it has the texture of the nuts. I'm not a huge fan of the all-smooth truffles, I love some texture and different flavors to taste all at once! Thank you for sharing this.
