Naples is famous for several unique pasta dishes. Pasta alla Genovese is a big deal. It’s been around since the 15th century. The sauce is slow-cooked with lots of onions, white wine, and beef. The meat ends up super tender, and the onions almost melt. They usually serve it with ziti or zitoni pasta, especially for Sunday family meals. Then there’s Spaghetti alla Puttanesca. It mixes tomatoes, olives, capers, garlic, and chili peppers. It's quick to make and has a spicy, bold flavor. One story says it came from the working-class brothels of Naples. Lastly, Ragù Napoletano is another favorite. It’s a thick tomato sauce with big chunks of various meats. Neapolitans love it for Sunday meals.
